Aim & Scope

The Blockchain, Web3 & Digital Trust Journal (BWDTJ) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal on blockchain technology, Web3 and the question underneath both: how trust is built in digital systems that no single party controls. It covers infrastructure, cryptography, decentralised finance, digital identity and the governance of decentralised networks.

We look for work that is technically sound and honest about limits. A rigorous security analysis, a measured study of a real deployment or a clear account of a governance failure is as valuable to us as a new protocol, and we welcome contributions from computer science, economics, law and policy alike.

Scope

We welcome original research articles, reviews, short communications and case-based studies in areas including:

  • Blockchain architecture, consensus and scalability
  • Smart contracts, verification and security
  • Cryptographic trust mechanisms and privacy-preserving technologies
  • Decentralised finance (DeFi) and digital assets
  • Self-sovereign and decentralised digital identity
  • Governance of DAOs and decentralised networks
  • Web3 applications in supply chains, health and the public sector
  • Regulation, compliance and the societal impact of Web3
