Abstract

The integration of robotics into telemedicine represents a transformative development in modern healthcare, enabling remote physical examinations, precision-assisted interventions, and enhanced clinical decision-making. This paper examines the technological foundations, clinical applications, and operational challenges associated with robotic telemedicine systems. Through a multi-layer evaluation of robotic platforms, sensory architectures, communication protocols, and clinician–robot interaction models, the study highlights how robotics expands access to specialty care, reduces geographic barriers, and enhances clinical accuracy in remote settings. A case analysis of robotics-assisted remote examinations within rural and emergency contexts demonstrates measurable improvements in diagnostic accuracy and patient satisfaction. Data from patient–clinician surveys, system performance logs, and workflow assessments reveal the feasibility and reliability of robotic telemedicine solutions. The study concludes with implementation recommendations for scalable adoption and future research directions focusing on autonomy, haptic feedback, and advanced AI–robot integration.
