Aim & Scope

The Journal of Digital Learning Futures (JDLF) is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal on digital learning and the technologies that are changing how people teach and learn. It covers artificial intelligence in education, virtual and augmented reality, learning analytics, gamification and online and blended learning, from early schooling to higher education and professional training.

We care about evidence. Papers that show what actually happens to learners when a technology is introduced, who benefits and who is left behind, are more useful to us than descriptions of tools. We also welcome work on the pedagogy, ethics and policy that should guide the move to digital learning.

Scope

We welcome original research articles, reviews, short communications and case-based studies in areas including:

  • AI in education, intelligent tutoring and personalised learning
  • Online, blended and hybrid learning design
  • Virtual, augmented and mixed reality for learning
  • Learning analytics and educational data mining
  • Gamification and game-based learning
  • Digital pedagogy and teacher professional development
  • Equity, access and inclusion in digital education
  • Ethics, privacy and policy for educational technology
