Abstract

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents significant opportunities and challenges across multiple sectors. As AI technologies continue to evolve and penetrate various industries, it becomes crucial to establish a framework of ethical guidelines to ensure that these systems are developed and deployed responsibly. This paper explores the governance of AI by examining the need for building robust ethical guidelines to guide the development of emerging AI technologies. It discusses the roles of governmental agencies, tech companies, international organizations, and society in shaping these guidelines, ensuring that AI technologies serve the public good without exacerbating societal inequalities or compromising individual rights. Through a review of current AI regulations, case studies, and ethical frameworks, the paper proposes a set of guidelines that could inform AI governance globally. The research emphasizes the importance of transparency, accountability, fairness, and inclusivity in AI systems, recommending a multi-stakeholder approach to the ethical governance of AI. The paper concludes by outlining the challenges of implementing AI ethics at a global scale and provides recommendations for future research to create effective AI governance models.
