Author Guidelines

Journal of Responsible AI & Ethics (JRAIE)

The Journal of Responsible AI & Ethics (JRAIE) welcomes original scholarly manuscripts addressing responsible artificial intelligence, AI ethics, governance, accountability, transparency, fairness, safety, regulation, and the societal implications of AI technologies. Authors should ensure that submitted manuscripts are original, ethically conducted, methodologically appropriate, clearly presented, and aligned with the journal’s aims and scope.

Submission of a manuscript confirms that all listed authors have approved the work, accept responsibility for its integrity, and agree to comply with the journal’s publication ethics, research integrity, and disclosure requirements.

1. Scope and Manuscript Relevance

Authors should ensure that submissions make a meaningful scholarly contribution to responsible AI research. The journal considers research related to AI ethics, algorithmic accountability, fairness, explainability, privacy, governance, responsible innovation, AI regulation, safety, and interdisciplinary applications.

Manuscripts should clearly define the research problem, explain the significance of the study, apply appropriate methods or analytical approaches, and provide evidence-based conclusions.

2. Manuscript Categories

Authors should select the article type that accurately represents the research design and contribution.

Manuscripts based on simulated, hypothetical, or synthetic data must clearly disclose the nature of the data and methodology.

3. Language and Academic Quality

Manuscripts should be written in clear and professional English using appropriate academic terminology.

Authors should ensure accuracy in grammar, terminology, references, tables, figures, and overall scholarly presentation. Unsupported claims, promotional language, and unclear statements should be avoided.

4. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should normally include the following components where applicable:

Title

The title should be concise, specific, and accurately represent the research contribution.

Author Information

Authors should provide full names, institutional affiliations, department/unit, city, country, and corresponding author details.

ORCID identifiers are encouraged where available.

Abstract and Keywords

The abstract should briefly describe the research problem, objectives, methodology, major findings, and conclusion.

Keywords should accurately represent the manuscript topic and improve discoverability.

5. Research Methodology and Reporting Transparency

Authors should provide sufficient methodological information to allow readers and reviewers to understand and evaluate the research.

Where applicable, manuscripts should report:

Software or tools
Validation procedures
Ethical considerations
Research limitations

AI-based studies should provide relevant information regarding models, datasets, evaluation procedures, performance measures, limitations, and reproducibility considerations.

6. Responsible AI Research Reporting

Because JRAIE focuses on responsible artificial intelligence, authors should discuss relevant ethical and societal considerations where applicable, including:

Data privacy and protection
Algorithmic bias
Fairness
Explainability
Human oversight
Safety risks
Accountability
Governance implications
Social impact

Claims regarding AI performance, fairness, reliability, or ethical suitability should be supported by appropriate evidence.

7. Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

Authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, integrity, and scholarly quality of their manuscripts.

AI tools should not be listed as authors. Where AI-assisted tools contribute substantially to writing, analysis, coding, translation, image generation, or research processes, authors should disclose their use appropriately.

Authors must verify AI-assisted content and ensure that references, data, analysis, and conclusions are accurate.

8. Originality, Plagiarism, and Duplicate Submission

Submitted manuscripts must represent original scholarly work and should not be simultaneously submitted to another journal.

The journal may use similarity-detection tools during editorial evaluation. Similarity reports are assessed through editorial judgment considering the context, extent, and nature of overlapping content.

Authors should properly acknowledge all sources and avoid plagiarism, redundant publication, and inappropriate text recycling.

9. Authorship and Contributions

Authorship should reflect meaningful scholarly contribution.

Authors should have contributed substantially to research design, data analysis, interpretation, manuscript preparation, or critical revision.

All authors must approve the final manuscript and accept responsibility for their contributions.

Guest authorship, honorary authorship, and ghost authorship are not acceptable.

10. Ethical Declarations

Authors should provide relevant declarations regarding:

11. Data Availability and Research Transparency

Authors should provide a data availability statement where applicable.

Restricted due to ethical, legal, privacy, or security limitations

Authors should maintain transparency regarding supporting data, software, code, and analytical materials where relevant.

12. Figures, Tables, and Supplementary Materials

Tables and figures should be relevant, clearly labelled, accurately presented, and supported by appropriate captions.

Authors should obtain permission for copyrighted material where required.

Supplementary materials should provide additional research information and should not replace essential manuscript content.

13. References and Citations

Authors are responsible for ensuring that references are accurate, relevant, and properly formatted.

Citation practices should not be manipulated to increase citation counts artificially.

DOIs and other persistent identifiers should be verified where included.

14. Peer Review Process

JRAIE follows a double-blind peer-review process.

Manuscripts undergo editorial screening before external review. Suitable manuscripts are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers.

Authors should refer to the journal’s Peer Review Policy for detailed information regarding review procedures, confidentiality, reviewer selection, editorial decisions, and appeals.

15. Manuscript Formatting and Submission Requirements

Authors should submit manuscripts in an editable document format following the journal’s formatting requirements.

Submissions should include:

Author information
Ethical declarations where applicable
Conflict of interest statement
Funding information
Data availability statement
Permission documentation for third-party material where required

Authors should ensure consistent formatting of headings, references, tables, figures, and supplementary materials.

16. Preprint Disclosure

Authors should disclose whether the manuscript or related work has previously appeared as a preprint, conference paper, thesis, report, or other publicly available form.

Any relationship between previous versions and the submitted manuscript should be clearly explained.
