Manuscript Submission Guidelines
The Journal of responsible AI & ethics (JRAIE) welcomes original, high-quality research manuscripts focusing on ethical, social, legal, and technical aspects of artificial intelligence. The journal aims to promote responsible innovation, transparency, accountability, and fairness in AI systems while addressing contemporary global challenges.
To ensure a smooth submission and review process, authors are requested to follow the detailed guidelines below.
Submission Requirements
- Originality:
Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or self-plagiarism will result in immediate rejection. - Submission Process:
Manuscripts must be submitted through the official online submission system of JRAIE. Each submission must include: - Complete author details (full name, affiliation, contact information)
- A cover letter explaining the manuscript’s contribution to responsible AI and ethics
- Disclosure of any conflicts of interest that may influence the research
- Language:
All manuscripts must be written in clear and professional English.
Manuscript Format
- Word Limit:
Manuscripts should be between 3000 to 8000 words, including abstract, references, tables, and figures. - Document Format:
Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. - Font and Spacing:
- Font: Times New Roman, 12-point size
- Line Spacing: Double spacing for the main text
- Paragraphs: Indented, with no extra spacing between paragraphs
- Margins: 1-inch on all sides
- File Naming:
Manuscript files should be named as follows:
AuthorName_ManuscriptTitle
(Example: JohnDoe_EthicalImplicationsAI)
Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts should be organized as follows:
Title Page
- Title of the manuscript (clear and descriptive)
- Full names of all authors with affiliations and email addresses
- Corresponding author’s contact details
- Short running title (optional)
- Acknowledgments (funding sources, institutional support, etc.)
Abstract
A concise summary (maximum 250 words) that includes background, objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusions.
Keywords
Provide 5–6 keywords relevant to AI ethics, governance, or responsible AI research.
Main Text
- Introduction:
Provide background on the topic, research problem, objectives, and significance in the context of responsible AI. - Methodology:
Describe research design, data collection methods, tools, ethical considerations, and analysis techniques. - Results and Discussion:
Present findings with appropriate tables, figures, or models. Interpret results, compare with existing literature, and discuss implications for AI ethics and policy. - Conclusion:
Summarize key findings, highlight contributions, and suggest future research directions.
References
- All references must follow APA 7th edition citation style.
- Ensure references are recent, relevant, and comprehensive.
- A minimum of 15 references is required for research articles.
Author Biography
Provide a short biography (maximum 150 words) for each author, including academic background, research interests, and recent work.
Reference Style
- Citation Style:
All references must follow APA 7th edition format. - In-text Citations:
- (Smith, 2021) – Single author
- (Smith & Johnson, 2022) – Two authors
- (Smith et al., 2020) – Three or more authors
Review Process
- Double-Blind Peer Review:
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. - Review Timeline:
The review process typically takes 4–6 weeks from submission to initial decision. - Revision and Decision:
Authors will receive reviewer comments. Based on feedback, the editorial team may request revisions. - Acceptance or Rejection:
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision based on reviewer reports and manuscript quality.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
APC: 0 USD
There are no submission fees or publication charges for authors. The journal is fully committed to free and accessible academic publishing.
Ethical Considerations and Conflict of Interest
- Ethical Approval:
Research involving human participants, datasets, or AI systems impacting society must have appropriate ethical approval. - Conflict of Interest:
Authors must disclose any financial or institutional conflicts.
Submission Checklist
Before submitting your manuscript, ensure the following:
- Manuscript formatted according to guidelines
- Title page with complete author details
- Abstract (max. 250 words) and keywords (5–6 terms)
- Complete manuscript sections (Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusion)
- References in APA 7th edition format
- Author biographies included
- Ethical approval (if applicable)
- Conflict of interest declaration
- Cover letter explaining contribution
Additional Policies and Requirements
AI Usage Disclosure
Authors must clearly disclose any use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar technologies in the preparation of the manuscript.
AI tools must not be listed as authors.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the content.
Any AI-assisted sections must be reviewed and validated by the authors prior to submission.
Data Availability Statement
Authors are required to include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscript. One of the following must be specified:
- Data available on request from the corresponding author
- Data publicly available (provide repository link)
- No datasets were generated or analyzed during the current study
Tables and Figures Guidelines
- All tables and figures must be clearly numbered (e.g., Table 1, Figure 1)
- Each table/figure must include a descriptive caption
- Images must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi)
- Sources must be properly cited if reused or adapted
- Tables should be editable (not images)
Publication Ethics
The journal follows strict ethical standards:
- All submissions must be original and free from plagiarism
- Data fabrication, falsification, or manipulation is strictly prohibited
- Proper citation and acknowledgment of sources are mandatory
- Ethical approval is required for studies involving humans or sensitive data
- Any misconduct will lead to rejection or retraction
Conflict of Interest
All authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could influence the research.
Corrections and Retractions
The journal reserves the right to issue corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern in cases of errors or ethical issues discovered after publication.
Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright of their work.
All articles are published under a Creative Commons License (CC BY 4.0), allowing unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction with proper citation.
Archiving and Preservation
The journal ensures long-term preservation of published content through recognized digital archiving systems (e.g., PKP Preservation Network / LOCKSS).
