The rapid advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) have brought about transformative changes across various sectors, including healthcare, transportation, finance, and governance. One of the most intriguing and concerning developments is the rise of autonomous decision-making systems powered by AI. These systems, which operate without human intervention, have the potential to revolutionize industries but also present profound ethical dilemmas. As AI-driven systems increasingly make decisions that affect human lives, society faces pressing questions regarding accountability, transparency, and bias in these decision-making processes. This paper explores the ethical considerations associated with autonomous AI decision-making, focusing on issues such as autonomy, moral responsibility, bias in AI algorithms, and the role of human oversight. The study examines existing literature, ethical frameworks, and case studies to understand the challenges and opportunities presented by AI's role in decision-making. The findings highlight the importance of developing ethical guidelines for AI systems, ensuring that these systems are designed to promote human well-being, protect fundamental rights, and maintain social justice. The paper concludes by offering recommendations for ensuring responsible AI development and deployment.
